Three-day Tablighi Ijtema in Manipur concludes

Imphal: The three-day Tablighi Ijtema held at Thoubal Moijing, in Thoubal District of Manipur ended on March 11, 2013 with a supplication (dua). The Ijtema commenced on March 9 with the Friday prayer at the venue.
The Ijtema was organized at the Thoubal Moijing play-ground, adjacent to the Madrassa Islamia Darul Uloom Azimia. It was attended by around 25,000 devout Muslims from various parts of Manipur, including around a thousand Muslim women, making it the largest congregation of Manipuri Muslims. Separate arrangements were made for women at the venue.


The Ijtema was graced by the presence of few distinguished Islamic scholars and Tablighis or Jamati Bujrugs, generally called Akabirins, from various parts of India, including Delhi.
Offering congregational prayers and delivery of sermons (waz) by prominent Tablighis on fundamental aspects of Tabligh and the Islamic way of life as prescribed in the Quran and Hadith were the main highlights of the gathering.


The Chief Minister of Manipur, O. Ibobi Singh attended on the second day of the Ijtema. Thoubal Moijing, the venue of the Ijtema, is a part of his assembly constituency. He left the venue after meeting some of the distinguished Tablighis.
The annual congregation concluded in the early morning of March 11 with a supplication (dua). The gathering prayed for the well-being of the Muslim community, peace and prosperity of the nation and harmony across the world.


Tabligh Jamaat has been organizing such Ijtema in different locations very year in the State to enhance the Islamic consciousness among the Muslims in the State.
The three-day annual North-East Tablighi Ijtema was held recently in Dibrugarh district of Assam from February 22 to 24. The Ijtema, which was organized at Bokul in Lahoal, near Dibrugarh town, was attended by more than 10 lakh Muslim devotees from various parts of Assam and other North-East States.

Meet Malaysian Students at Markaz Tabligh (Madrasah), Raiwind

Ambassador Dr. Hasrul Sani Mujtabar took the opportunity to meet 25 Malaysian students who are currently studying in Markaz Tabligh in Raiwind on 9 February 2013. This is the biggest group of Malaysian students currently in Pakistan. The Markaz itself is the largest tabligh centre worldwide. In his remark among others, Ambassador Dr. Hasrul advised the students to portray good image of Malaysia wherever they live and in line of Islamic teachings. They were also told not to propagate disunity that may weaken Muslims and the Islamic world.
